The Division of extractive metallurgy provides production of engineering materials from raw materials obtained from nature, waste or scrap materials and byproducts of industrial production.

Pyro-metallurgy, Hydro-metallurgy and Electro-metallurgy, which are main extractive metallurgy techniques, analyse, use and develop the physical and chemical processes required for the production process. It practises Ore Dressing, Pretreatment, Fundamental Processes, Thermodynamics, Kinetics, Chemical Process Design and Modelling. The products of these processes are; Iron, steel, ferroalloys, copper, lead, zinc, tin, and primary metals such as nickel, arsenic, antimoan, bismuth, cadmium, mercury and secondary metals such as cobalt, beryllium, magnesium, aluminum and light metals such as titanium, gold, silver, platinum group metals, such as precious metals, tungsten, molybdenum, niobium, zirconium tatntal, hafmium, refractory metals such as vanadium and rhenium, germanium, gallium, indium, thallium, selenium, and telur semiconductors, such as uranium, thorium and radioactive metals such as plutonium, rare-earth elements, chromium, manganese, silicon and boron ferroala┼č─▒m metals such as lithium, sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium as the alkali metals, with a new generation of both traditional and high technology ceramics materials.

Our division plans the products and processes due to the national recommendations with the local, global, economical, commercial and strategical objects and provides the qulity and accreditaion expectations.
